life with sticks in one's head

better day with bad news

Since I’m always cataloguing bad days, I thought it important to catalogue what, at this point, seems to be a better one. The higher meds have made it into my system, and it is a glorious day, on which I won’t have to sit on the R2 for 70 minutes to get to Wilmington. My brother and his clan are in Philly at the zoo, and will be driving me home for the holiday weekend.

On a less hopeful note, Jane Mayer (who is a great reporter), follows up an AP report detailing the death of prisoner Gul Rahman in the Salt Pit, a CIA black site in Afghanistan. Rahman, who was in his thirties, was stripped from the waist down and shackled in a cell where the temperature dropped to 36 degrees Farenheit. He froze to death.
