Police brutality in Philly, again

leave a comment »

I just got this email (slightly edited) about a protest on Friday over the severe beating of an innocent man in West Philly. I wish I could say I’m surprised, but I’ve heard about other incidents from friends in the past. If you live in Philly, get your ass there, cause otherwise, this isn’t going away.

ASKIA SABUR COALITION AGAINST POLICE BRUTALITY (ACAPB) PRESENTS “ALL OUT FOR ASKIA” CITY WIDE PEOPLE’S COURT.

Friday, October 15 · 12:00pm – 2:00pm
Outside Seth Williams District Attorney Office
opposite from the Southeast corner of City Hall

On September 3rd, 2010 Askia Sabur was wrongly beaten by the 19th District police officers for no reason at all. Five men, including Sabur and a cousin, were standing outside the Lucky Garden Chinese restaurant when two officers “Jimmy Leocal” and “Donyul Williams”asked them to clear the corner. Sabur refused, telling the officers he was waiting for his food and from there, cops viciously attacked him with their batons in his head until pints of blood spilled onto the sidewalk resulting in receiving 6 Head-Staples, a neck-brace, multiple back injuries (upper & lower back); and other physical and emotional damage
If you have the stomach, watch.

We are demanding for the cops to be jailed in prison and charges be drop against Askia Sabur.

The City Wide People’s Court is Friday, October 15th, from 12pm-2pm at Seth Williams District Attorney Office, located at Three South Penn Square Corner of Juniper and South Penn Square
Philadelphia, PA 19107, off of 13th Market.

Please spread the word to everybody online, word of the mouth, text message or whatever, just please get the word out there to the public.

“Justic for Askia!”
